Super crisp and easy keto waffles the whole family will love!
A keto waffle on a blue wood table.

Mad Creations Keto Crispy Savoury Waffle, are incredibly easy to make and easy to eat.

Eat them plain, use them for toasties, burgers, or ice cream sandwiches.  Simple and versatile.  Also suitable to freeze and simply toast when needed.

The burger below is filled with Baja Chicken (recipe in the book Real Food Real Fast, available in our store) a red hot jalapeno and radish butter glaze, and slaw.  The whole recipe for this burger is featured in the book Fast & Fresh which is available in the store.

Making waffles I have to say, that I have really grown to love making them.  Each recipe I create makes roughly about 3 large waffles, but that is 6 – 12 serves for me as I find them incredibly filling.  I have to laugh at myself as I now even own 2 waffle irons, one square one round.  It was after I started to blog waffle recipes that kmart bought out a great round one for only $20.  Even if I didn’t use it a lot, I knew I would get my moneys worth out of it at least.

I wanted my own pancakes to celebrate Canada Day with the rest of my family so I whipped up a batch of these. I cooked them up in a frying pan and they are the best Keto pancakes I’ve ever made. Firm structure yet light and fluffy and delicious.

Thanks for offering to convert to measurements we in the U.S. are familiar with. These are teaspoons/tablespoons and cups. I love crispy so am looking forward to making these.

  5. Kandis

I’m allergic to almonds. Do you have recipes using coconut flour or other low carb flours?

    1. Megan Mad Creations Hub

Hi Kandis, yes I do. You can simply search via the ingredients you are after in the search bar or recipe styles

  6. Amelia

By thickened cream do you mean whipping cream?

    1. Megan

      Yes I do.

Is there a sub for the sour cream?

  9. Tracey

Could you use Pea Protein powder or does it have to be Whey?

    1. Megan

      You sure can Tracey

      You can use pea protein

  11. Bobi

Can you substitute the protein powder with anything else?

    1. Megan

You can just use extra almond meal but the protein powder helps male the waffle crispy

Yes these are really good. They do get crispy, which is wonderful. I had an issue with the measurements because, American here, metric is alien to me, and the US conversion was such odd numbers. So I did, ohhhh 2 ounces and a dollop more… So my measurements were no where near accurate and my final product was a bit oily. But still delicious!

    1. Megan

      Hi Leslie,
Can you tell me what kind of measurements you would normally use as I can change the conversion metrics. Sorry the turned out oily, the version with my metric measurements isnt an oily mix. Happy to help get the measurements converting right for you though x

OK Wanted something indulgent for breakfast…so made this with a bit of vanilla and added sweetner….they were da bomb! So crispy delicious with a bit of butter and sf male syrup.

These are by far my favourite waffles, so crispy and taste just amazing! I make a whole batch and freeze the extras for when I need a sweet treat. I top with a few berries and plenty of yummy cream

This made 8 thick waffles in my Breville Waffle Pro (they’re pretty big) and the best keto/LCHF waffle recipe I’ve tried to date. I did sub the xanthum gum with ground psyllium, and it was super thick, I had to add an additional egg and some milk to get it to pouring consistency
